The following remarks were delivered by a friend of the USA Transnational Report on Martin Luther King Day.
Today we remember MLK and I want to share a piece of his philosophy with this group.
Long before the plight of the Jews in the Soviet Union was on the front pages, Dr. King said, “I cannot stand idly by, even though I happen to live in the United States and even though I happen to be an American Negro, and not be concerned about what happens to the Jews in Soviet Russia. For what happens to them happens to me and you, and we must be concerned”.
During his lifetime Dr. King observed the establishment of the state of Israel and the continuing struggle to build the nation. He often repeated his stand on the Israeli-Arab conflict, stating “Israel’s right to exist as a state in security is uncontestable”. He consistently emphasized “security” in his statements on the Middle East.
On March 25, 1968, less than two weeks before his murder, he spoke out unambiguously stating, “peace for Israel means security, and we must stand with all our might to protect its right to exist, its territorial integrity. I see Israel as one of the great outposts of democracy in the world, and a marvelous example of what can be done, how desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood and democracy. Peace for Israel means security and that security must be a reality.”
Compare that to a speech by Dawud Walid, at a Mosque in Warren, in May, 2012, wherein he stated:
The “pro-Israeli occupation lobby that is connected to the Islamophobia network” is the reason why America experiences “more problems, more Islamophobia, more hate crimes, more desecration of mosques, more anti-Muslim activity” than other countries in North and South America.
He also said: “So this is why you see the Islamophobia network trying to gin up negative information about Muslims and Islam. This is a direct connection to the occupation of Palestine. It is a direct connection. And [it is] because the strongest Israeli lobby in the world is in America, because America is the sole patron of Israel.”
This Zionist lobby is also the biggest obstacle to Muslims “liberating” Palestine, Jerusalem, and the al-Aqsa Mosque, the heart of the Israel-Palestinian conflict, he said.1
In reality, hate crimes on U.S. campuses are increasing at an alarming rate due to the very rhetoric that comes from the mouth of Dawud Walid. According to FBI statistics for 2014, the most recent on record, when it comes to religious hate crimes, 58.6% were anti-Semitic, while 16.1% were anti-Islamic.
In fact, Islamophobia is a word that was made up by the OIC (organization of Islamic Cooperation – formerly countries) in order to criminalize any speech critical of Islam, a cause that has now been taken up by the left, while at the same time fully protecting any criticism of Israel, Jews and Christianity, under cover of the 1st amendment. Well, they can’t have it both ways. Dawud Walid can’t have it both ways.
REFUGEES, WHO ARE THEY? WHERE ARE THEY?
Security Issues:
Where do false accusations of “Islamophobia” lead? Would the New Year’s Eve sex attacks on German women have been able to take place without them? A German police officer told media that law enforcement cannot efficiently tackle crime among refugees without being accused of excessive violence or racism, while many dangerous incidents are played down or kept secret to maintain desirable statistics.
Worse still, falsified accusations of racist profiling lead to sloppy, inefficient vetting of potential “new Americans.” For example, not analyzing Facebook postings of special visa, refugee and asylum applicants.
Who here knows how many people have entered this country, in recent years, who are posing as refugees, but mean to do us harm, like Tashfeen Malik, one of the San Bernardino terrorists, who, with her husband pledged their services to ISIS, while the neighbor of the murdering couple didn’t report unusual activity at their home, lest he be considered a “racist?”
You must know that top Administration counterterrorism and security officials have repeatedly told Congress that the current refugee vetting process is insufficient to ensure terrorists are not admitted as refugees and intelligence officials have determined that Islamic extremists are seeking to use the refugee program to enter the United States.
Does anyone know how many refugees have been arrested, in recent years, but kept out of the public eye, on terrorism charges?
The number is 113, or 114. Did you know that the government is refusing to provide background information on where these arrested refugees have come from, or anything else about them? Why is all this going on? Is it because our populace wouldn’t stand for this refugee invasion if they knew all the details?
What is The Refugee Resettlement Program?
Until the end of the 1990’s, the U.S. chose the refugees the U.S. would accept from foreign countries. Since then, the U.S. State Department has relied more and more on the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR) to make those choices. In recent years, 95% of refugees to the U.S. have been chosen by the UNHCR.
Do you think the refugee decision making for the UNHCR might be influenced by the largest voting block within the UN that consists of 57 member states? It is known as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Makes you wonder why the wealthiest nations of the Arab world won’t absorb their brothers with whom they share a language, religion and culture. How many refugees are going to the wealthiest gulf countries? Saudi Arabia-0, Qatar-0, Bahrain-0, UAE-0, Kuwait-0. They have security concerns.
The Refugee Resettlement Act of 1985 is a 35-year-old federally funded program which was envisioned as a public-private partnership, with local charities and churches providing the funding according to what they could bear financially and for offering aid for an immigrant to assimilate.
Over the years, funding morphed to the point that almost all of the financial flow now comes from the federal government, YOUR tax dollars, not charities.
Most disturbing is that we don’t know what the actual costs are to our states, cities and counties. We, the citizens of this state, didn’t know this has been going on. Our state legislators don’t know much about it either. Even the Office of Refugee Resettlement in Lansing claims they don’t know who and how many refugees are being dumped on our communities, until 30 days after they arrive.
We do know that there is a government $1 billion payout thru nine “voluntary” agencies and their subsidiaries, to provide services, for refugees during their 1st 3-6 months in this country. After that, the refugees who still need assistance go on the public dole, having been trained how to do that by the settlement agencies, to the tune of about another $6 billion dollars/year, dollars that are being diverted from other worthy services that should be benefiting our own needy citizens.
By federal law, refugees are automatically granted “protected status,” entitling them to public aid, such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Public Housing, Supplemental Security Income & Social Security Disability. The new refugees are sent to the front of the line favoring them, at the expense of America’s poor.
REFUGEES: WHAT IS THE REAL IMPACT ON MICHIGAN?
What is the cost to our own communities? Our underprivileged? Our school children? Our veterans?
For example: “Culturally and linguistically appropriate services” must be delivered to immigrants in education and health care and other areas of need. So school systems have to divert some of their budget for translators & English as a 2nd language, away from other special needs programs, because. There just isn’t enough money for everything.
Did you know that refugees get priorities on many other things that are not available to U.S. citizens or other immigrants?
For example, the Office of Refugee Resettlement has a special grant program called ‘Individual Development Accounts (IDAs). For every dollar the refugee saves for one of 4 possible savings goals, you, the federal taxpayer match them dollar for dollar.
This whole program is managed through resettlement contractors like Lutheran Social Services. These IDAs are designed to help refugees save for a specific purchase. Under the IDA program, the matching funds, together with the refugee’s own savings from their employment, are available for purchasing one (or more) of four savings goals:
- Home purchase
- Small business development
- Post secondary education or training
- Automobile (for employment purposes)
That is an example of special treatment for refugees, which is not made available for America’s needy.
The public is often told that a high percentage of refugees quickly become “self-sustaining”. But “Self-sustaining” and “self-sufficient” are not synonymous. “Self-sustaining” simply means the local resettlement contractor is no longer providing aid to the refugee. The taxpayer, however, continues to provide support through government programs, other than cash welfare.
How does the RRP affect communities? Bringing the poor to America may appear a kind and compassionate act toward impoverished people, but the influx of low-skilled labor has created additional problems for Americans who also need an opportunity to get a foot in the door.
The American black community has suffered disproportionately due to the increase in immigration coming just as the 1964 Civil Rights Act was beginning to create opportunities for the black middle class to move up. American blacks who were at the bottom of the ladder saw their opportunities increasingly eliminated by foreign competition for entry-level jobs. A small problem at first, it is now a major barrier when businesses work with local contractors to provide workers and agree to give priority to refugees over U.S. citizens. *
When the Refugee Act of 1980 was passed by Congress, a promise was made that the refugees would not simply bring more poverty to America, but that is exactly what is happening.
The Adverse Impacts of Immigration on Minorities, Testimony to House Judiciary Committee
Subcommittee on Immigration2
What about the charities? Well, RR is their cash cow and because it is, they will NEVER, EVER, EVER want to see it fold. Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, is the VOLAG that is sending refugees to be resettled by Lutheran Social Services.
Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, one of five VOLAGS resettling refugees in Michigan, gets 97% of their annual budget funded by the U.S. – also known as us.
“For young up-and-comers, forget Wall Street, it’s the ‘Christian charity’ world that you should be shooting for if you want to live well while wearing the do-gooder white hat! “
